Before embarking on our Hidden Moments Race adventure, please take a moment to review our terms and conditions. These guidelines ensure a fun, safe, and fair experience for everyone involved.

Booking and participation rules

A non-refundable fee of $25 per participant/group of up to 3 people, is required at the time of registration. Fill in your details, submit, then proceed to the pay now button.

Any child under the age of 13 must have a guardian that is age 16 or over. We encourage you to choose your mode of transport, but for efficiency, a car or e-scooter is recommended for the Hastings hunt. Safety first! See t's&c's below for more details.

Prizes and locations

Our Hastings hunt involves seven different locations spread within the outlined area in the map below.

Check in time is 10am with the first clue handed out and starting 10.30am at Splash Planet carpark marked X on the map. Each clue will feature a photograph and caption clue or a riddled puzzle to help you find the next location.

First person/group to locate all seven hidden places will win $200 prezzy card, second participant/group will be awarded $100 prezzy card and third participant/group will gain $50 prezzy card.

Additionally, there will be three random spot prizes at selected locations for randomly selected participants/groups; each person/groups wristbands will have a unique number.

Detailed Terms&Conditions

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK

You and those in your group understand that participating in this event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Travel between locations (by car, walking, scooter, etc.)
  • Public spaces and traffic hazards
  • Uneven terrain, weather conditions, and obstacles
  • Physical activity and time pressure
  • Interaction with other participants and members of the public

You/your group acknowledge that you/your group are participating voluntarily and at your own risk.

HEALTH & FITNESS DECLARATION

You/your group confirm that:

  • You and those in your group are physically and mentally fit to participate
  • You and those in your group do not have any medical condition that would make participation unsafe
  • You and those in your group will take responsibility for your/their own wellbeing during the event

If required, you/they will seek medical advice before participating.

SAFETY RULES (MANDATORY)

You and those in your group agree to:

  • Follow all road rules and New Zealand laws at all times
  • Not speed, race, or drive dangerously
  • Remain aware of surroundings and prioritize safety over winning
  • Not enter private property unless clearly permitted
  • Supervise any children under your/their care at all times
  • Follow all instructions given by event organizers

⚠️ Safety comes first — any unsafe behavior will result in disqualification.

EVENT RULES

  • Each participant/group must wear their issued wristbands at all times
  • Wristbands are non-transferable
  • Only registered participants/groups with wristbands may take part
  • Grouped participants can only win one main prize
  • Clues must be solved by the registered participant(s) only
  • First participant/group to complete the final location wins one prize only
  • Second and third place prizes awarded accordingly
  • Spot prizes may be awarded at random locations

LIABILITY WAIVER

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law:

You and your group agree that Hidden Moments, its owner, employees, and affiliates are not liable for:

  • Any injury, loss, or damage suffered during the event
  • Any accidents occurring while travelling between locations
  • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Actions of other participants

You and your group understand that this waiver does not exclude rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or Health and Safety at Work Act, where applicable.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

You accept full responsibility for:

  • Those with your group and your actions and decisions during the event
  • Any vehicle you or anyone in your group operate or travel in
  • Ensuring you and your group act safely and lawfully at all times
  • Those in your group agree to these terms and conditions as part of participation in the event.

MEDIA CONSENT

You and those in your group give permission for Hidden Moments to:

  • Take photos/videos during the event
  • Use these for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes

EMERGENCY & INCIDENTS

You and anyone in your group agree that:

  • In an emergency, you/they will contact emergency services (111) first
  • You/they will notify organizers of any incidents as soon as possible
